A HOUSE ON A LAKE
BECKET, MA

Perched on a steep hill, within 30 feet of a scenic mountain lake, this vacation retreat is home to a family of keyboard enthusiasts. In addition to accommodating both large and small groups for a weekend or holiday, the Great Room houses a piano, a harpsichord, and a glass harmonica. The roof form refers to the mountainous terrain while taking advantage of the acoustical need for a high volume and the aesthetic need to capture the view. Stainless steel stair and cable railings are visually light and allow for minimal intrusion into the lake buffer zone.
